Rhythms of India is a power-packed collaboration, which pays tribute to the diversity of India’s rich cultural heritage, through an electrifying blend of folk, classical and contemporary sounds. The hypnotic hooks of percussion excite and inspire in equal parts, especially when played by six seasoned veterans.
The ensemble features BC Manjunath, an award-winning Konnakol maestro known for his traditional style of playing Indian classical music with a blend of modern techniques; SG Pramath Kiran, a distinguished percussionist from South India; Praveen Rao, a music director, composer, and percussionist; and Varijashree Venugopal, a singer, flautist, composer, and songwriter. Rhythms of India also includes drummer, educator, and composer as well as the legendary Nagada player Nathulal Solanki as guest artistes. In a pan-Indian collaboration, the ensemble will showcase the rhythmic traditions of India in all its glory.
