Having been introduced to the Carnatic form of composition at a young age, Sandeep Narayan is known for his uniquely hypnotising and meditative style of performance, which effortlessly combines Eastern and Western musical sensibilities. Having trained under Shri K.S Krishnamurty, honing his skills across the Chennai classical music circuit, Sandeep Narayan has his sights fixed on the world music arena with feet firmly rooted in the classical music ethos. He is a recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar from Sangeet Natak Akademi, the Kala Ratna title from the Cleveland Thyagaraja Aradhana, the Yuva Purandara Award from Indranagar Sangeeth Sabha, the Best Ragam-Tanam-Pallavi Award from The Music Academy Madras, Isai Arasar title from Trinity Fine Arts, Shanmukha Sangeetha Shiromani from Sri Shanmukhananda Sangeetha Sabha, and the Best Concert & Vocalist Awards from The Music Academy Madras five years consecutively from December 2010 to December 2014.
